The Nationals were everyone's Preseason favorite to get to the 2013 World Series. A litany of injuries, with a few slumps from some key Veterans - have caused them to only be hovering around .500. They still have a chance to rundown the Atlanta Braves in the NL East if they can put together the kind of winning baseball they put forth during the 2012 campaign. Even if it doesn't come to fruition this year, the club looks solid in the coming years. Only a World Series Championship will forever cement their legacy as a great club.

By Chuck Booth (Lead Baseball Analyst/Website Owner): and welcome Jeff Kleiner (Salary, Roster and Depth Chart Expert for the MLB) – visit his website  here

You guys are all in for a treat.  Jeff Kleiner recently contacted me about a partnership merge for the website.  He has developed a site (prosportsrosters.com) that covers all organizational affiliates in the Minors for all of the Major League Baseball Clubs.  We are going to combine efforts to bring you the best look at salaries, current 25 Man Player Rosters and Depth Charts for all 30 teams.

Jeff is going to provide the documents in form of spreadsheets and I am going to accompany the posts with deep analysis of what the numbers tell us from my perspective.  If you can’t wait for all of my assessments for each club, go and visit Jeff’s website over at http://www.prosportsrosters.com.

In Speaking with Jeff, he is one of the more passionate fans I have come across towards the game of baseball.  He spends enough time in updating his MLB Facts for it to be a Full-Time Job.  So after the usual Video Clip and READ THE REST OF THIS ENTRY button, you will find some serious &*!@?!#!

Jeff updates this page below on a daily basis.  After you click on it….Bookmark it.  There is a 3 year salary forecast and stats not listed here on this page.  Jeff updates these pages daily and these changes include any Roster moves!

From Last To First – The Rise Of The Nats

Strasburg went 15-6 with a 3.16 ERA in his 1st full season back from Tommy John Surgery. He also racked up over 11K/9IP. This was all in just 160 IP due to his innings restriction which should be lifted in 2013 making his impact even greater.. Mike Rizzo and the Nats brass will be under a great deal of pressure every year based on it.

Strasburg went 15-6 with a 3.16 ERA in his 1st full season back from Tommy John Surgery. He also racked up over 11K/9IP. This was all in just 160 IP due to his innings restriction which should be lifted in 2013 making his impact even greater.. Mike Rizzo and the Nats brass will be under a great deal of pressure every year based on the 2012 year mandate.  Strasburg has fought minor injuries – to post a 2 – 6 record with a 2.50 ERA – spanning 13 Game Starts and 79.2 IP.

The Washington Nationals are great shape for the immediate future.  Having several losing seasons in a row, enhanced with back to back 1st overall picks with Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper, have laid the foundation to franchise for potential championships.

It is not just the those guys, the team possesses several ALL – Star Caliber players, plus a plethora of Team Controllable Salaries that will only escalate beyond control after 4 – 5 more years.

Mike Rizzo and the brass are dealing from a position of strength.  While 2013 has not been a banner yet for the DC club, they have time to turn it around and write a positive chapter.

Bryce Harper blasted out of the gates in the 2013 season – with a 3 Slash Line of .287/.386/.973 – with 12 HRs and 23 RBI in just 150 AB. Plaguing injuries and bursitis on his Left knee, have placed the sophomore slugger on the Disabled List since May.27th/2013. Strasburg and he are the franchise. Together, with fellow players: Desmond, Rendon, ZImmermann, Zimmerman, Detwiler, Werth and LaRoche – you are looking at a fantastic nucleus for perhaps a World Series Title.  The team is having one of those bad luck years.  Not to worry if you are a Nats fan – as the team should be held together for several more years.  One thing to keep in mind is that as these guys all hit Arbitration Eligibility, the clubs payroll will begin to skyrocket into the upper stratosphere considering their talent level.

Jeff Kleiner:  ”I have been a sports fan since the first Baseball game I went to at Comisky Park in Chicago in 1959, when baseball for me turned from black and white to color. I have attended or watched thousands of games, always paying attention to statistics, rosters and salaries of all professional sports.

Luckily I had the advantage of watching WGN TV and seeing hundreds of games in the 60′s. Collecting Baseball Cards and then later dealing them gave me an extra sense of the sport, both good and bad.” For all of your Salaries, Roster and Depth Charts for all 4 Major Sports (entire organization – Minors and Majors) click here or Follow Me on twitter
